Membership Questions

Who is eligible to join UPGA?

Any golfer who meets at least one of nine qualifying routes is eligible — including winning the Uganda Open, finishing top-ten at the Uganda Amateur Open, national team representation, Q-School qualification, amateur excellence, coaching credentials, Executive Committee recommendation, invited amateur performance, or outstanding contribution to golf development. All applicants must also meet the three mandatory requirements: good conduct, completion of the registration process, and commitment to the UPGA constitution.

Can amateur players apply?

Yes. Amateurs who have finished in the top ten at the Uganda Amateur Open, represented Uganda's national team, competed as invited amateurs in professional events, or demonstrated consistent high-level performance in recognised amateur tournaments are eligible to apply.

How do I apply for membership?

Complete the application form on this page with your personal details, home club, handicap index, and the eligibility route you qualify under. Once submitted, our team will review your application and contact you within 3 business days.

When does my membership start?

Membership activates within 5 business days of payment confirmation. You will receive your membership card and access credentials via email or phone.

What payment methods are accepted?

We accept MTN Mobile Money, Airtel Money, bank transfer (Stanbic Bank), and cash payment at our Kampala office.

What is the Order of Merit?

The Order of Merit automatically ranks all members by prize money and points accumulated across sanctioned events throughout the season. Standings are updated after every tournament and published on the Rankings page.

How are players ranked on the website?

Player rankings are calculated automatically from Order of Merit points — no manual input required. The more sanctioned events you compete in and the higher you place, the higher your ranking.
